TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—On the 29th, the people will have the opportunity to make or mar tbe progress of New Plymouth. Tbe foundation of prosperity c« bi laid by choosing a progressive Mayor. We contend that it is the duty of voters of bo'h sexes to dißCird all party aud private fealiogs where so much is at stake. It is as much the woman's duty to study the welfare o? their! husbands and their bread vrinners, as it is their husbands duty to s uly th sm. It would simply mean that business would he stagna-it, property worthies 3 , labour unobtainablp, and our population decreasing. All this can be avoided by elec'iug a live and progressive Mayor and Councillors.' who will allow their actions to be open to our friend (the Press), in Older that tbe ratepayers can see how things sra going.
