ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A sad incident occurred on tho mail train last evening, Same little time after leaving Hawera, a child of Mrs H ughes,of loglewood, became suddenly ill, and the train was searched for a doctor. Unfortunately, however, there was no medical gentleman on the train, but a dcctor was wired fur at ■Straiford, and he attended promptly, but only to pror.ounce life extinct. We were unable to ascertain the cause of Jeath. Great sy a pithy was manifest d towards the mother in her sad | -roubla.
