PER PRESS ASSOCIATION, Wellington March 24. _ | The Appeal Court was occupied this | afternoon with the appeal in the Port I Chalmers Licensing Poll. The ques-1 tion involved is whether Mr Graham, S.M., was the proper person to hold an irquiry as to the validity of the local iptionpol 1 , on th? ground that he is not the magistrate of FortChdmers. The Question as to his legality was ttstcd* Mr Graham holding he had jurisdiction, while Mr Jus ice Williams held otherwise. Argument was not concluded when the Court rase for the day.
