A PLUCKY RESCUE.
FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Nklsoit, March 24. A nsrrov escape from drowning is reported from the Cro'xelles. Mr W. K. Stewart, of York Sta'ion, went across th» harbour to Whangarei in a boat, accompanied by blslittle daugbtar, to get his mails. Mrs Stewart watched tbeboat, which was considerably loided, but she went indoors for a moment, and on returning could not see it. With the aid of a glass she saw the boat had capsized, and tbat her husband and daughter were smuggling in the water. She ran to the shore and bunched a fr»il beat, and at considerable risk rowed out a distance of three miles, when ehe reached the capsized host, ebe found her husband clinging with one h»nd to it, and'with the other supporting th-ir daughter, who was then uncoi scions. Aided by Mrs Stewart all got ashore, but Mr Sewari and the little girl bad baen in th<» water for about two hours. The girl remained unconscious for some hours bu"! both are now recovering.
