WHANGAMOMONA SPORTS. (Special to Daily News.) The St. Patrick's Day Sports were held at Whangamomona on Tuesday. The weather was favourable and the attendance fair. The committee supplied ample refreshments. Results:— 100 yds Handicap: Fowler 1, Hardigan 2, Hill 3. Half-mile Hindicap : McNey 1, Stockley 2, Batcuelor, 3. Boys' Race: Joe Davis 1, Archie | Sheory 2, R. Jones 3. St. Patrick's Handicap, 100 yds: McNey 1, Irvine 2, Stockley 3. Wrestling: Walker. Girls' Race: Ruby Dornbusch 1, Fanny Hill 2, Ethel Terry 3. 100 yds Settlers' Handicap: Din Davis 1, E. Hill 2, G. Batchelor 3. Running High Jump; Fowler, sft 7in, 1. Old Hen's Race: Grant 1, Morgan SJ, Hammond 3. St. Patrick's Handicap. 220 yds: McNey 1, Irvine 2, Stockley 3. Married Women's Race: Mrs J. Muir 1, Mrs Hallet 2, Mrs W. In this the same three competitors took the same places throughout and preserved the same relative distances with commendable harmony. In the evening a wellattended Ball was held in the Kohuratahi Hall; Mr Wildermorh was M.0., aad Mr Knyvett presided at the piano.

OKATO HIBERNIAN BPORTS. (By Our Spkcial Reporter.) The fifth annual Hibernian Spor's , meeting was held in Mr Doyle's paddock, Okato, on Tuesday, in very fair weather. The tyrt, with its pret'y shelter bush, is an ideal ground f.r eucha gathering, and with same improvements to the track could ba made into a first-class sports ground. The attendance was fair considering that tke meeting .had not besn properly advertised and therefore was only known to a limited ciicle. This is a mistake which the Committee should . remedy in the future. There were eeme excellent finishes and the handi- - capping proved to have bean we'l done. All the officials worked well except in the matter of g tting the events off to time. The Secretary was indefatigable in his efforts to promote the success of the meeting.
