THE GLOBE INSURANCE SWINDLE.
WBJG U'd AHRBST, PKR PRKBS ASSOCIATION. Received 18 10.2 p.m. Kew York, ilarch 16. The Bank cotes which Whittaker Wright changed revealed his presence in Paris on February 21st. Afterwards, accompanied by a yonng lady, who is understood to be his niece, he embarked on the liner La Lorraine at Havre for America, having previously registered as Monsieur and Mdlle Adreoni. He took one of the finest deck suites, and after sailing told the purser a mistake had been made, and that their real names were J. W. Wright and Mies Brown. At the instance of the London police, a New York detective yesterday arrested Wright aboard tbe Li Lorraine on the charge of being a fugitive from justice. He showed no excitement, and expressed surprise at bia arrest. He declared the whole affair was a basinets transaction, and said he understood it had been settled by Parliament. The Magistrate at Tombs Police Court ordered him to gaol. An early eztradi ion is expected. Miss Brown stated she was visiting friends, and alighted at the Albermarle Hotel.
