LOAN woans, The following resoluions wera carried in committee of the whole on loan matters on Monday night: —That the necessary steps be taken to cb'ain, under the Public Works Ac', the lacd selected for tha sep:ic tanks site ; thit Mr Maiß3y be paid the pr-a,iutri in concection with pbns of the stltwater baths drawn up by him and accepted by the Csuncil; that the Engineer's reeommendaioa re band rotunda site be adopted ; that the Engineer prapare an estimat3 of cos! of making Woolcombe Terrace and Octavins Place open for traffic; that tenders becilted for erec ion of batbs, in a-.cord-ance with the Engineer's pirns; that the sum of XISQO I e allocated from the loan for the completion of Devoa-sfrest; that the sum of £3OO ba allocated to works in Vtvi m-strf et, from Brougham to Moi ley-streets; that fresh tenders be called for grading Standish Hill, uot exceeding 500 yards cf the spare earih to be deposited in Fulford-streefc gully, and the balance in "Vivian and Powder-ham-street gullies; that tenders ba called for 200 casks of cement; that the Council p\y halt tbo cosr, of making and maintaining, for a peiiod of 10 year?, a r idtli of 15 feat of the road from its jus c:ion y.ith (hn main road at Aro:-.'s s'ore to the abittoir site.
