FARMERS' UNION.
FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION Palmbrston, February 7, The Farmers' Union meeting to-day decided to take immediate steps to protest against a dairy school being established at Levin. A strong deputation, including representatives of the A. and P. Association and Chamber of Commerce will, wish the district members, wait on the Minister. The extension of noxious weeds in the district caused a lengthy discussion. It was attributed to two causes—(l) Tbe depesit of merchants' seed cleanings on the river banks, the refuse being washed down with every fresh and deposited oa properties abutting on the river; and (2) The purchase of cheap Beads in auction rooms. Tha pro»f of a lengthy circular prepared by Mr J. G. Wilson, president of the executive, on the aims and advantages of the Union was received, and 30,000 copies ordered to bs printed and circulated throughout the colony.
