During luncheon, Mr G. T. Bayly,' who presided, said that on behalf of the Taranaki Cricket Association he bad the pleasure of bidding the Aucklacd team welcome. Taranaki cricketers highly appreciated the action of the! Auckland Unitn in sending a team. He hoped thi* won'd be the forerunner of many similar pleas in t gatherings. He gava the toast of the Auckland team, which was heartily received. Mr B. B. Lusk, in replying, thanked Mr Bayly and the Taranaki cricketers for their welcome. They were delighted to Tint Taranaki, and, speaking for himself, having lived in Taranaki for several years, it seemed a second horn to him, They hoped to see a Taranaki team in Auckland m z~ year, and would endeavour to give them a good time. "The Hawera Teim" was then proposed, and duly honoured. Pratt captained the Taranaki team, not McCarthy, as stated yesterday.
