THE GAIRLOCH WRECK.
NO HOPS OF VESSEL BEING FLOATEDMr. Charles JEUnson, manager of the Northern Steamship Company, and Captain Plunkett, surveyor to the Underwriters' Association, returned to Auckland by the Ngapuhi on Thursday afrer having paid a visit to the wrecked s'eam-r Gaiilocb on the beioh near Oakura. It was found thxt the sea was washing in and out of the hteamer, showing that the hull is in a V6»y bad state. The whole of th cargo, excepting the timber, has beei destroyf d by the action of the water, land nothing more can be saved. Tbe-e is no hope of the st amer being floater again, »nd the will probably be dis mantled, and everything pessibl saved from htr.
