SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS
The Board met on Friday at the office of the secretary, Mr F. P. Corkill Present:— Messrs R. Cock (chairman), wort¥. — Wq,lq Ifaull. and AllsMe3srs Wade and Faull presented their report on Mr R. L. Stanford's application for division of his leasehold. The report was adopted, and the special resolution passjd at hst meeting w g confirmed.

Mr MicKenzie said he had also been asked to report on the matter as the proceedure here appeared to be different to that adopted in other placed. Mr Allsworth said instead of the Minister taking exception to the excellent methods adopted by the Taranaki Board, aod for which they were indebted to the Board's solicitor, tha Minister of Education should commend the Board. There was no doubt but that the system adopted hid been of immense bsnefit to education and had enabled the Education Board tD establish schools where otherwise they could not have done. .
The secretary for Public Works wrote respecting the prop;seJ proclamition of a roid through part of section 109, block 2, Ngaire, occupied by P. Hunter, junr. On the application of Mtssrs Weston and Weston the Board agreed to stay proceedings to re-enter on the leisehoM held by Mr 0. T. Rundle until Fabru ary 28th, as Mr Ruodle had agreed to comply with r»quiremen(s. The Department of Roads intimated they had passed a voucher for fencing at Tikorangi. Two reports from the Ranger were read.
The (re)suror reported a bUanca of of ,£524 28 lOd, Transfers agreed to : -A. E. Syk.-s to Etta A. Bullot ; sections 486, etc. New Plymouth; F. F. Cooper to F.' 01os->, sub-lease of section 19, blook 3, Ngaire (J. A. Stanford, lessee.) An application to mortgage was' granted. Application to sub-let was granted 0. Carter, to H. F. Russell, temporary teuanoy. Conversion of tenure, 0. Carter, Victoria Park leases held by him.—' Granted. Accjuntg amounting to £lO 8s 4d weie passed, and the Board adjourned.
