MR SEDDON'S REPLY TO MR IRVINE. FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, January 15. The Premier in reply to Mr Irvine's statement that nothing hid be*n heard further of New Ze iland's ofler to supply seed wheat, etc., says that from the nature of the replies received to the New Zealand Government's offer, which were tantamount to saying that the assistance offered was no longer required, and from the fact that rains have fallen in abundance, no aot'on was taken by the New Zsaltnd Government, The latter had been prepared, and is prepared now, to rail seeds and fodder to the seaboard and pay freight to Australia. Ic was the altered conditions and the fant that no he'p was required, and the replies received from the Stito Premiers which prevented th* movement here taking active steps, Mr Seddon quotes the replies he received, and ilhsp, while expressing thanks for the proffered assistance, do not encourage the movement being proceeded wi:h.
