I Sin.—Tour weekly issue of September 13th last did not reach me until the 4 h inst. It had evidently missed the previous 'Friscj mail. Mr Smith in that issue favours me with a notice iii the form of a concoction of statements that are not true, and al-o a concealment of facts to such an extent that calls fiom me a reply that I oannot possibly put together prior to the mail leaving, but 1 will endeavour to post it during the coming week. Meantime I a*k your i eiders to suspend their jadgm«n*. It miy prove for-i tunate that there are written documents, and the evidence of independent, reliable witnesses'as to what took p'.ac* in London lo be weighed in connection with the unsupported statements of the honourable member for Taranaki in; respect to this iron-and question. —I am, etc., '
