THREE LIVES LOoT. PEE PBE3B ASSOCIATION. Invercarglll, January 8. A fatal boating accident, by whi h three lives were lost, happened at Riverton to-day. Twd young men namrd Fresh Nad, a paioter, and Fred Parfitt, a ea'esman at the D.1.0., Dun; edin, and son of a Riverton draper, were out in a sailing boat between the bridge and the bar, having with them j E'hel Kiss and Janat Kelly, young girls from Invercvgill. Mies Rots was a fine young woman of about 18 years ef age, the daughter of Robert Ross, who is well known in cricketing circles. She gave promise as a vocilist of equalling her mother who is one of Invircargill's most pepular singers. Miss Kelly was the daughter cf George Kelly, foreman on the nsw railway bridge. The family reside at luvercargill, but last week w«it to Riverton for a month, Mis* Ross visiting with them. The affair has caused a painful sensation here and at Riverton.
