A change in tbe bowling was made, Djwson replacing Thompion. After a few singles had been scored by cireful play, Tatteraill'a middle stump wes taken b/ Burnup.—29 -2 -8. He was sacceede'i by J. Sk«lly. A few runs were added, and then Harden jras given out.leg before. 37—3 -15. B'.ce followed and scored one, but was shortly afterwards run oat. 43 4—l. H. Skelly partnered his brother, but (be hitter's wicket soon fell, Burnup catching a soft return. —46-s—ll. A change of bowlers was tried, Thompson takiog Burnup's end. Later. In their first attempt Manawatu managed to put togeher 104, L, Bkelly being responsible for 31. Following on they added 72, L. Skelly being again top sorer with 24. Burnup, Thomson, and Basanquet .were the most successful bowlers for - 'the Englishmen, who won the match by an innings and 130 ruts.
