STEAMER ASHORE OFF OAKURA.
■ At 2.30 this morning a message was S'.nt to Dr. Walker, who is connected by telephone with Oakura, stating a steamer was ashore on the rocks off Oakura, He at once informed the ! police of the news. Some little while previously several reports, as if from a cannon, were hevrd jin town, and created considerable speculation as to their origin.
