Thomas Ma f hiesjn and J jha Walker were charged with stealing varnish, turpentine, otc. It was admitted that but for MatluPS'm's foolish s'ate uc'nt, when fi,t>t spo'ien to, that ho did uot assist to remove the goods he would not have b?eu arrested. Walker was found guilty, atd sentenced deferred. Ma'hieton was ncquitt d, tha jury considering he lefi, the Court without a stain on his character. Donhdin, May 30. At the Supreme Court to-day, John Walker and Samuel Thomas Bolton were acquitted of the oharge of stealing two gallons of paint from the Union Company. Two young men, Howard and Myero, weie charged with i-tealiog the contents of the till in a suburban hotel. At tha clom of the cse for the Groove, the jury, by the judge's dire.:t ; on, returnod a verdict of net guihy so far as Myers was ccncernel. The case against Howard is not concluded.
