Cardinal Yaughan has invited Mr Redmond to appoint a Nationalist to sit on the Cardinal's committee which is watching the Education Bill. Mr Redmond replied that the Nationalists have a committee, but would be glad to con«ider any suggestions made to it. Fifty-seven Commoners, Unionists and Liberals formed a permanent committee to promote the interests of trade and commerce. The new cruisers built on the Clyde are langr- and broader than recent models, and of greater displace ment without deepening the draught. This will admit of heavier armour plating being used.
