PRESBYTERY OF TARANAKI.

Tue Presbytery of Taranaki held its ordinary businssa meeting at Waverley on Thursday, the 17th iost., aud in the evening the triennial visitation of the congregation.

Sinction was given to the appointment of Mr Stephen Riddle to t.hu district of Opunake for twelve months. Mr Spiers, was granted power to administer baptism in the district of Ingle wood. Arrangements are to be made to supply Patea for a few months till a suitable man is found.

Mr Bertram reported progress at Eltham.

Mr Hutson referred to the East-road and.Ohura, near Stratford, where an' effort will be made to provide religious services. Mr Osborne reported on the work being done at Tarataand Ing Wood. Mr Hutson reported that; a loin of ,£•600 nt 5 per teut. had bean M-rang-ni for by the at Straifui d. An effort will be mado to provide a bursary of £2O or £25 by the congelation within the bounds of this Presbytery. Mr Osborne spoke to his motion, of which due notice had been given, " That an excutive should be Ret up by the Presbyterian Ohurch of New Zealand." An effort will be made this winter to hold a series of evangelistic meetings in all the congregations of Taranaki.

The visitation of tha congregation was proceeded with, and eatisf iotir£ answers given to the prescribed questions.

The next mseting of the Presbytery for ordinary business will be held at Hawera on Thursday, 17th July, 1902, at 1 o'clook.—Star.
