BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A special adjourned meeting of the] Borough Council wes held on Tuesday ■ evening. Present;: The Mayor (Mr Doekrill) in tbe chair, Or.-", Connett,' Leaknd, Collie, Brooking, Garter, i Tisch and Wbbster. _ I The Borough solicitor wrote in reference to the land proposed to be taken for an abattoir eito at the Wi<i»akaiho, and in accordance with his suggestion tbe Council passed the following resolution :—Tba& notice in writing Le given by the T'wn Clark (through the | Borough solicit .) '. Willi mCourtney that the Council docs not admit his claim for £3528 in respect of compensation for the taking of 73£ acres, part section 159, Hua district, for a site for an abattoir. The Council then went into committee to further consider applications for the position of Borough engineer.
