CHRISTCHURCH NEWS.
PER PBESB ABSOCIATTON. Christchdkch, March 26. The Ohristchurch Hospital Board haß expressed the opinion that it was advisable that all future past mortem examinations at the hospital should be made by medical men not connected with the hospital staff. Tbe expenditure for 1902-3 is estimated to require £II,OOO, of which h»lf will bs contributed by local bodies and half by subsidies from the Government. The Cbristchurch hospital is expected to absorb £10,000; Lyttelton hospital £l5O, and Aka:o.'. hospital £4OO. The Education Board has received applications from 28 female teachers desirous of taking up work in the refugee camps in South Africa. The applications have been forwarded to Wellington.
