The featurn of the electifn was the improve'! positions the Government candidate? secured in the labour strongholds. Libour members riupofs'ssed Ministerial candidates at Maryborough, tbe Government also 10-ing a seat at Bowen and Ipswich. These nre compensated for by a victory at Enoggera and South Brisbane. The state of 'h-i pirti'S so far is Government 42, Libour 24, Independent 6.
