For fourteen nonths McfllsV. has been entertaining large audiences all over Australia, and at her farewell concert in Hobart it is estimated that fully 2000 people were presemt, and her send off resembled a nati«Bal gathering in the magnificent enthusiasm displayed by the citizens, The programme to ba given here is a diversified one, embracing by the English mussers, examplns of the French and I talian schools, us well as operatic excerpts, and modtra compositions, and fie would ba a captious critic indeed who fails lo find some number that will please him. In spite of the heavy evening's work, the fair singer ia remarkably gcod-natured, and in response to the demands of herthojoughly pleased auditors, Mdlle. Dolores invariably supplements the list with encores, usually of the popular order. The Perth News, referring to the " star's " singing of Meyerbeer's great " Shadow Song," remarks: —" The most intricate passages were sung with a clearness and ease no words can adequately express. The audience held their breath in rapturous amazement, but when the finishing note rang through the hall, with all the fullness and resonance of a clarion, though with far greater sweetn«Kg, a tumult of uppkusa btoke forth such as has not been heard in this city before, Is was a superb triumph," Always a great artist, by her kindly, unassuming manner, our visitor endears herself te the public, and a more popular prima donna never toured Australasia.
