BAND CONTEST.

The Secretary has just received, through the kindness of Bandmaster Lieutenant J. Herd, of Wellington, the Quick March " Hearts and Homes." by Newton, to be played by the massed bands (nearly 400 bandsmen) on tbe (Tuesday and Thursday of the contest ! waek. The maich has been kindly 'donated by R. Sjiith and Company, publishers of band music, London, for ' whom Lieutenant J. Herd acts. The committee have decided to commence tbe congest on the original date, Tuesday, 11th March, finding that Monday would not suit many of the bands.
