THE NINTH CONTINGENT. Wellington, February 3. Applications received by the Wellington Recruiting Board for the Ninth Contingent are over 600 to fill 129 places. Auckland, February 4. Captain O'Brien, of A Bittery.commands the camp of the North Inland Battalion, and also receives a commission in the Ninth Contingent.
Aucbxahd, February 4. The Auckland Recruiting Board has finished the examination of applicants for enlistment. There was a great rush of applicants all day. B*tween 300 and 400 men presented themselves and the examiners were enabled to make a very satisfactory selection, Lienteoant-Colonel EUis, Captßin Taunton, and Dc McCleland examined candidates for the North Taranaki quota of 13 on Tuesd y.
