FIRES.
OUTBREAK IN NEW PLYMOUTH. At 3.5 this morning the Central firebell rang out an alarm, aßd the fire was discovered to be at Mr. Paul's Bgmont Brewery, in Queen-street. When the Biigade arrived the top floor of the malthouse was all ablaze, the flames breaking through the roof. In a few minutes a couple of streams were playing on the fire, and there was apparently no danger of its spreadipg to the rest of the buildings. It wasj impossible to estimate the damage at the time of goiog to press, and the I cause of the outbreak was unknown. PER "BBSS ASSOCIATION I Christchurch, February 3. Early this morning a fire occurred ia the Criterion Hotel, Gloucesterstreet. The place was gutted by the time the flames was suppressed. The hotel was insured fot £SOO in the Standard, £SOO in the London liverpool and Globe; and furniture, none of which was saved, for £350.
