A serious fire occurred at Poosooby, whereby Kelly and Powell's groceiy a*o>e was totally destroyed, and lb* premises of Owen Pierce, butcher, and 'larl s John Goodwin, draper, war* pa tly destroyed, Kelly and Powell hive lost everything, inoluding hooka. Goodwin bad £1,700 worth of drapery in stock. Myers, ohief offioer of the stetmer Ngunguru, rented the bank portion of Kelly and Powell'* premise* as a dwelling, but bis family won away from home, and have lost all, losuranoes are: —Goodwin*, twostoreyed shop in the Royal for £2OO, stock and furniture uninsured, tha estimated loss being £2OOO. KeHtj and Powell's stock £IOO in the Victoria, ! Myew, furniture and offset* JIOO in I the New, Zealand. The o*a»,ot % fire Is unknown. HslUbr Brottart i owned Pieroos, Myers, and KeDjrcM Powell* premises but the isMunojn .are not available.
