REPLY TO AUCKLAND RESOLUTION. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION, Auckland. January 24. This morning the Mayor received the following cablegram direct from Mr Chimberlain in acknowledgment of the resolution passed at the last meeting of the Auckland City Council in reference to recent German slanders on the British Army: "The Mayor of Auckland, -Thank you for resolution of the Auckland City Council. We appreciate the patriotism everywhere! displayed by our fellow subjects in Australasia.—Chamberlain."
