INGLEWOOD NEWS.

i (From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of those in favour of a | State Bank wis held here on Wednesday evening. There were about 12 present, Mr B. H. Nicholls bring voted to the chair. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Frowm, to form a branch of tbe Financial Reform League, those I present to constitute a committee to work up members. There was a good deal of discussion on the platform of the League, so it was resolved to start on the platform laid down by Mr Ell until a meeting of delegates from the various branches can be held. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d, Mr O, Leech b;ing eLc-.td secretary and treasurer. I bear that the New Zealand Farmers' Union is not sailing so smoothly as it did, especially in Ngaire, where, at a meeting of the branch, a resolution was passed notifying the Ta> anaki Executive to appear at a meeting to be held in Ngairo on a certain date, to hear erfciin charges ftgiinst the management of the Union in this province. The executive, 1 hear, will refuse to attend, as the charges are nothing but a little personal spite; so altogether things don't look too prosperous. The Inspector for Noxious Weeds was out here last week, serving notices fo farmers whose land is infested; but owing to his numerous duties be is unable to give that att"ntion to the extermination of the weeds that is desirable. It is to be hoped text year asub-inspec tor will be appointed, so as to see that every farmer cuts or destroys all noxious weeds growing on his land.
