FEB PKESS ASSOCIATION. Nelson, January 7; At the Provincial Conference of the Farmer*' Union it was resolved to urge that Crown and native lands within three miles of public roads be rated for local purposes; that the Government take over main roads in thickly populated districts where there are no railways ; that farmers be exempt from the Workers Oompeisation Act; that sheep, land and income tax exemptions be reduced ; and that protection be removed from imported biris and animals. A protest w»s entered against the increased honorarium of members of Parliament.
