A vigorous amount of trapping and I other forms of destruction resulted in [the discovery of large numbers of I plague-stricken rats in tbe harbour foreshores and various parts of tbe city. Tbe health authorities consider the outlook very serious". The Mayor has stated tbat it appears almost impossible to avert another outbreak of pi _'ue. Arrangement"! are being made to resume systematic fumigation of sewers, and tbe public are urged to assist in tbe destruction of rats. j Melbourne, Novembar 28. ! •Owin? to tbe discovery of plagued rats in Sydney trapping on the wharves: has been resumed.
