Hokdat, November 25. Before Mr B. L. Stanford, S.M. DBUNKEITNESa, W. Hickma f e, an elderly man, was fined 20s and coats 'on a charge of drunkenness, he having been conviotf d on a similar obarge within the last three months. A week's imprisonment in default. PBOTKCTIKO FOOT PASgKHGIKBS. The following offenders agiinst the Borough bye-laws, relative to driving over Powderham-street bridge at other than a walking pace, were fined 2s each and costs:- W. Lander, George Hanover, J. Hollyman, E. Marfell, J. Beatson, A. Bayly, F. Bridger, and A. Ward. WBANOLINQ AT AN HOTEL. A, 0, Barry pleaded guilty to-a charge of. ret using to quit the White Hart Hotel when requested to do so by 'the landlord. I Mr Spence, who appeared for the defendant, submitted that the breach of 1 the Act was a technioil one.

Oharles Clarke, lioensse, deposed to hearing a wrangle in the hotel passage and requesting the disputants, one of whom was the accused, to desist. Defendant told him not to interfere, and the wrangli went on. Witness went away to ring up for the police,' and when he r-turned the parties had gone.

His Worship inflated a fine of 10s and costs, but gave a weak's time to pay.

W. Inch was charged with refuging to quit tbe Commonwealth Hotel when requested to do so by the licensee. Defendant pletded not guilty. Mr Weston, on behalf of defendant, admitted that there was an altercation, but that Mr O'Driaooll had not been aware of all the facts when he requested the disputants to withdraw, and hiving since ascertained whit had takn pkce was desirous of withdrawing the ca-e.

His Worship, however, considered that under the circumstances the case might be withdrawn, Sergeant Haddrell then consent d, but he wished it understood th»t he did so under reluctance, and that these disturbances could not be allowed to oacur without being brought before the Court for investigation.
