Entries for the annual show of the above Society were due on Saturday, b«t up to the present the secretary, | Mr T. Q. Kelsey, have not received the numbers from the outlying centres, So far the entries in the horse, classes show a considerable increase over last year; cattle are expected to ba about the same, hut are much better distributed in the various classog. Sheep and pigs, always weak at the Taran-ki show, are a little better than hst year. The butter compotitions have pro duo'd 36 entries, and cheee*e 6. The show of industrial exhibits i« good, an I home industries, which form an annually improving section, present a further increase of entries. Generally spooking, the show promises to be considerably in advance of last year.

The Society has made considerable improvements in the disposition of the exhibits on the show ground. Tho site of the cattle pens, etc., has been removed, and new yards erected «e*r the judging green. As the produce tents are also being placed in the same locality, the various branches of the sho'Ar will be found to, be more concentrated, thus facilitating the work of the officials, and adding to the convenience of the public, Holiday excursion fares will be issued by the morning train from Haw*ra and intarvening stations to New Plymouth, available to return on the following day, except by mail train. The afternoon train from New Plymouth on show day will run an hour later thanxnsu«l—viz,, 5.25.
