PROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. A meeting of those interested in the formation of an electric lightning company w»s held on Tuesday evening, when it was decided that before definitely forming a company an expert's estimate of cost of machinery and installation of plant be obtained. The contractor for our post office informs me that tho work will be finished in a week's time. Mr T. 0. H. Nicholls, who returned' from his honeymoon trip on Tuesday night, was presented by his fellowworkmen with a handsome marble clock on the following evening as a mark of their esteem for tho bappy couple. Thw function took place in the diniflg-rooms attached to the Moa Farmers' Union premises, and a most enjoyable time was spent. A farewell social wan given to Mrl and Mis Bateman and family on Thursday evening in the Foresters' Hall. There was a large attendance of young j and old, dancing being the " order of 'the day," iutermiogled with musical items. During the evening Mr Bate- ! man wi.y presentrd with n gold albert and locket as a mark of the esteem of j his fellow-citizens, for which he duly , responded.
