BBWLKY & GRIFFITH'S SHARE REPORT.

As usual, for some months past, the share market is quiet. The New Zealand Shipping Company hss just held its an Dual meeting, and has raised its dividends from 4 per cent, to 5 per cent., and carried forward a substantial sum. Woollen shares are hard to sell, the fear of labou- troubles making investors shy of all industrial concerns dependent on labour. Waihi shares have seen a marked ris« transactions having taken place at L 6 7s 6d, with sellers at L 6 12s 6d.

The return from the firs + , crushing of over fiOOO tons by the Talisman Consolidated is disappointing, the value being under LI 6s per ton.

There is no material change in Otago dredging shares. The wild cats and weak companies are now pretty well disposed of, and a healthier tone exists. West Coast returns continue to improve. Buller Junction has paid a second dividend, and Kelson Greek a fifth, and from the consistency ot their returns, these claims will now be regular dividend payers. Pactolus will probably get a record return this week, but dividends are not being paid, though a large sum is in hand, as the company h»s a double claim, and will shortly put a second dredge on to work the upper claim, and it is proposed to put on the second dredge from the pi ofits now accumu atingr, a p >lioy which is approved of by the considerable number of shareholders here.
