Friday, October Bth.—Before Mr R, L. Stanford, S.M. DISOBEYING MAINTENANCE ORDER. Oharlea Revell, shoemaker at Okato. was charged with disobedience of an order of the Court for payment of maintenance money to Ethel Revell, his wife. It appeared that there were i arrears amounting to £l3, Accused, .was convicted and sentenced to three J months' hard labour, but the warrant was suspended for a month to give him the opportunity of paying the amount. USLIOSNSED BABY FARMING. Adelina Jensen was charged with committing a breach of the Infants Life Protection Act, 1896, by taking c'arge of an infant and receiving payment therefore without having a license for an infants home. Sergeant Haddrell did not press for j a, heavy penalty. His Worship inflicted fine of 5s and 7s costs. ~ j Thomas Sinclair, hotel porter, was! charged with stealing a suit of clothes! and a ring, the property of A. Blyde,at Rahotu hotal. Accused asked to be summarily dealt with. J. Mynotf, labour agent, gave accupel a grod chamber except that, drink was hi* weakn ss. Witness offered, if necessary, to pay for the suit and trust ta accused re-paying him. His Worship sentenced accused to seven days' imprisonment with hard labour.
