CO-OPERATIVE BACON FACTORY COMPANY.
—•— . I MEETING AT KAPONGA. ' There was a fair attendance of settlers at the Commercial Hotel, Kaponga, oa Tuesday last, to receive a report from the delegate to the New Plymouth meeting. Mr James Sexioa was voted to the chair and gave a report of ths Naw Plymouth meeting, which he attended as the KapoDga delegate, his report being in the same terms as published | in the News last wtek. Messrs Monteath and Wilpon, who were present on behalf of Mr Drake, also made a fe» remarks in corroboration of Mr Sexton, the former stating that a very successful meeting held at Oakura had appointed Mr Mills as a provisional director, and there was every pros pect of successful results. After some discussion, Mr F. W, Wilkie was elected a provisional director to represent Kaponga.
The meeting was very en'husiastic and strong promises of support were made, the opinion being expressed that, co-operation would ba the only way to put the bacon industry on a satisfactory tooting, and give the dairy farmers * steady and reliable market for pigs, After a cardial vote of thanks to Mr Sexton for his services as delegate and chairman the meeting terminated,
