RAILWAY PASSENGERS AND NEW PLYMOUTH.
(The general manager of the Governt mens Railways (Mr T. Ronayne) has : advised the Superintendent of tbe Tourists' Department (Mr T. E. Donne) of certain matters which will be of interest to travellers who have to pass through New Plymouth. The Railway Dep irttnent has arranged for tick-is" for New Plymouth breakwater 'o be kept at the p i"cipal stations on -.he VVellington-Napier-New PJyuouth' section, and it has also requested the Weliiogton and Manawatu Railway Company to make similar arrangements iu so far as its line is concerned. Booking clerks have also been instructed to be careful to ascertain from passengers who r>sk for New Plymouth Itickeis whether they desire tickets for the town or breakwater, so thatthsir luggage can be labelled accordingly. Luggage ex steamer at the breakwater [ will be loaded direct into van, instead ', of being discharged on to the wharf before the train arrive*; and passengers 1 will be notified aftsr leaving the breakwater that their luggage will be ; discharged on the platform at New [ Plymouth, and that thoy will require , to claim it.
