SEARCH FOR THE MONOWAI.
PER PRESS AS3OCJATIOJC Dunedin, October 21. Captain Spinks of the Mokoia, which is leaving tbe Bluff for Hobart this afternoon, has instructions to take double time on the voyage in case anything has gone wrong with the Monowai. The Herald is leaving the Bluff for Greymouth to-morrow, and will also make a careful search of the coast, while the Oorinna, which is leaving Westport to-morrow, will take sufficient coal to last 20 days, and will go to Hobart ou a z ; g zig course. The Union Company has no anxiety as to the Monowai, as information from Hobart is that Btrong south-wast winds are prevalent, similar to those on the coast here, but these precautions are being taken to allay public anxiety. Received 22.0.69 a.m. Hobabt, October 21. If the Monowai i* not reported soon tbe Orawaiti will start on a search for her.
