MONTGOMERY'S COMPANY.
iAt the Theatijs Royal on Wednesday evening Mr Montgomery once again made his bow to a large New Plymouth audience, and placed, before them an entertainment which, fur interest 'and amusement, it would be difficult to find an equal. From first to last—and the programme was of more than ordinary duration—the audience were kept thoroughly interested and amused. The animated pictures were all well worthy of the high reputation for this speciality, that of Joan rf Arc being particularly thrilling, which Mr Montgomery p'ss' sses. In addition to this, his illustrated songs, "The Only Way," " Fatal R~se of Red," " Behind the Times," and " The Sailor's Bride " were very touchingly rendered and greatly applauded. Interspersed with the Bioscope pictures were some highlyamusing turns by the talented variety artists which the enterprising manager has secured. Mr Eadie's humorous sketches, " Biptism .and Immersion," and "The Contingent Horse" produced roars of laughter. Mr Harry Halll was exceedingly droll, especially in " Mary's Lamband Mr Fred Gibson's coon songs were well worth hearing. There was no doubt about the enjoymeat of the audiscc?, whose manifestations of approval were constant and hearty, It is just one ef those entertainments that suit all olasses, irrespective of age. TO-NIGHt A complete change of programme will be provided, except that "Joan of Arc" will, by requfst, again form part of the programme. As this is Mi Montgomery's final appetrance there should be a crowded house, and intending patrons would do well to book seats or obtain tiokets at Mr McKinnon Bain's.
