HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Governors <i the High Schrol was held on the 4th inst., when there were present MessrsMacDiarmid(chairman), Doekrill, Wilson, Berry, and Roy. Leave of absence was grandad to Captain Cornwall, and Mr V 7 eston. i An application by Mr Ward, of the High School staff, for leave of absence to attend the University examinations, j waa granted. j Tim chairman was empowered to make arrangements for tho appointment of a supervisor at tho examination iu November. Applications for tho position of teacher of higher sewing wera opened, and it was decided that, as the classes would not bo commenced during the present term, tha appointment ba de- ; ferred till next meeting. Under special circumstances explained only half fees wore charged in the case of a certain pupil. Accounts amounting to £9O 12a 2d wero passed for payment, and the Board rose.
