JANET WALDORF COMPANY.
Thb final performance of the Janet Waldorf Company at tbe Theatre Royal on Monday night drew a large audience, who followed the drama of " Camille" with absorbing interest after the first scone. Mr. MacGregor looked and acted the part of Armand Duv*l to perfection, as rlid Mus Janet Waldorf that of tbe heroine. As M. Duval (Armand's father), Mr. Hanray had not much scope, but his finished acting in this small part, was much appreciated. Mr. Edwards made an exnellent Count de yarville, and the other male parts wore capably filled. Miss D'Alton, as Madame Prudence, had a part just suited to lief, and she made the best of it, as did Miss Bartlett with that of Nanmi (the maid). In the second act " the pledge of love," the enthusiasm of tbe audience was: iroused and never allowed to flag until I the fall of tbe curtain on the final j death scene. This last scene was a' veritable triumph in the art of acting, I 'and evoked loud and continuous applause. A sketch of the plot has already been given, and it only remains I to state that the painful s'ory was' worked out with deep feeling, which! showed the company possessed an excellent conception of the dramatic possibilities of this great emotional play. The scenery and staging were, most appropriate.
