The enormous sale of the "Library ( of Famous Literature" in New Z»a'land has exceeded anything hitherto known in the history of bookselling. Not a work for pedants or dry-as-dust scholars, it makes its appeal to the largest public, in particular to the | home and family circle, to busy men and women whose opportunities for making acquaintance with the world's great literature have been limited, and to those interested in the training and education of the young. It is at once a library of the most entertaining [reading and a library 'of the best reading which the world's literature may I afford. Those who subscribe now may secure this epoch-making work at a reduction of fifty par cent, from the regular price, and, furthermore, may receive the complete work, the entire twenty volumes sent all a*, one time, J upon the preliminary payment of ten i shillings. But to take advantage of j this opportunity, it is necessary to act immediately, for the edition is almost exhausted, and on Tuesday, September 17, the oflkr must be withdrawn.
