GROWN TENANTS' RENT.

In view of the frequent references made in the Hotise to the rebates allowed on Crown tenants' rents, two returns laid on the table were more interesting thin the ordinary run of returns. The first was one called for by Mr. R. Thompson, showing the number of Crown tenants who have bee a granted 10 per cent, rebate on rent for the two half-yearly payments dm January and July, 1901, as follows: - Auckland; Hawke's Bay, and W estland, nil; Tatanaki, 1; Wellington, 1123; Ifelson, 6; Marlborough, 30; Canterbury, 554; O'ag", 481; Southland, 178; totnl, 2373.
