(From Our 0«n Correspondent). On Friday last the concert for the Wesley a q Church trust debt was successfully held. The lightiug and seating of the church adds mush to the comfort of the audience and i:s acoustic properties to the ease of the singers as well as the musical effect. Nearly every item evoked enthi elastic ei coi'-B an! tha programme was moat choice and enjoyable. Instrumental solos were rendered by Mr. Harold T. White with his accustomed skill. Miss sang with excellent expression. Some beautiful duets were given by Mrs. Duigan and Miss Od II; a'so sweet song* by Master Montague Armstrong and the Misses Maud Armstrong, Kate and Elsie Symons, with recitations! from Master F>ank and Miss May Dunn and Mr. Duigan, all w.ll givon, and a couple of capital soogs from Oap- { tain Marte?n, S A., aud also one from I Mr. 0. Warren. Mr. J. H. White! gave an effective reading. Then op- { portunity was taken to express the] regret felt by the church and congrega- j tion at the prospect of removal of Mr. Wm. Howell and family. Their manifold and long services to church erec- j tion, bazaars, harvest festivals, Sunday School and regular services, were re j ferred to successively in appropriate and affectionate terms by Mr. H. T. White, Mr. Kitcbingnnn and Rev. J. H. White. The proceeds were devoted to the church debt, towards which Mr. Howell kindly announced a donation. The hymn " God be with you till w«meet again " gave fitting expression to the feeling of the audience. Refreshments were served and thanks to the ladies who provided them carried by acclamation.
