LAND BOARD.
The Board met on Monday. Present: Tbe Commissioner (chairman), Messrs Heslop end Rittenbury. On the motion of Mr Heslop, leave of absence was granted to Mr 0. K. Stock, who was absent through illness. A lettor of sympathy will also be forwarded. Lewe of absence will also be granted to the Hon. T. Kelly during the s«8 k ion of Parliament. Land appl ed for since last meeting had been Sec. 13, block 4, Ngatimaru, 293 acrts, John Harvey, cash ; sec. 1, block 5, 395 acre*, O'to Schaare, 0.r.p.; sec. 11, block 4, Ngatimaru, 279 acres, H. V/. Kultz, 0.r.p.; sec. 1, block 7, tipper Waitaru, 1440 acres, A. L. Hunter, 0.r.p.; see 16, block 2, Ngatimm'u, 200 acres, W. J. McMullian; cash; s?c. 3, block 15, Ngatimaru, 28 acres, S. Lintfirn, o.r.p. —Applications approved, except Mr McMullian's which was deferred till next meeting.
Oa the motion of Mr Eattenbury, seconded by Mr Heslop, titles will be issued to E. Green, for sec. 3, vil'age of Makaka, and D. P. Biin, sec. 45, Mangathu suburban, who wrote and explained why balance of purchase money had not been paid by tbe date fixed.

The following road boards submitted proposals for expenditure of accrued " ' birds —Parihaka, ,£133 9s 4d ; Wniw!ikaiho, .£lB 18s Id; Mwginui, £73 19s 9d. —Agreed to.
The report of the Ranger was received on the proposal of the tin wera County Council to expend ,£237 17s 9d, and tha proposal agreed to,

Consideration of plans of seven sections in blocks 5 and 9, Mimi, and 9. Waro, was deferred. On Mr. Heslop's motion, seconded by Mr. Rittenbury, section 4, block 8, Uppfr Waitara, 1220 acres, was set ap-irt, as a forest reserve, provision to be mado elsewhere for a reserve for primary education. The applicition of the 'lVanaki Jockey Club to purchase a. portion of! the closed Holsworthy-road was de- j ffrred.
