PES PBBSS ASSOCIATION. Ddnedin, August 8. Albert smith, a partner in McGavin's brewery, about 40, shot himself fatally last night. Won. Bitty, 19, accidently shot and killed himself while rabbiting near Berwick. Wellington, August 8. An inquest was held to-day on the body of Charles O'Brien, formerly a warder in the Lyttelton Pri.-00, who phot himself outride the Star and Garter Hot>l. The evidence showed tbat deceased had bro ded over a separation from his wife and family, and had taken to drink. A veidict of suicide while temporary insane was returned. Dunedin, Awgust 8. At tbe inquest on Alfred Smith, a verdict was retorned of suicide wjile temporarily insane. Deceased was an engineer with McGavin, Smith and Company, brewer?, and bad been drinking somewhat heavily of late. His brother-in-law walked home part of the way with him. He raid he was going out shooting next day, and invited his brother-in-law to go with him. The latter stopped to have a look at a dance going on, and when he reached the house his sister asked him to go to a room, siying that Smith w?s foolishly discharging blank cartridge l . On going in he fcund Smith dead.
