PKB PRESS ASSOOIATICN. Wellington, August 5. F. Franklin, at ooe time treasurer of the Wellington Racing Club, died here at the nge of 66. His Excellency the Governor has received the following cablegram from the Duke of Cornwall: —" Grieved to hear of the death of Sir John McKenzi*. Please expiess my sympathy to Lady UcKerizie and family." (Signed) [George. Sir Joseph Word found at the la»t minute that his medical adviser did not consider him sufficiently recovered from bis illness to go south to the late Sir John McKenzie's funeral.
