An application by the Wellington branch of the Federated Seanuu's Union for enforcement of aa award agaiis* Meseis Richardson and Company, ef Napier, was withdrawn after it had been made clear that the grievance was not against the firm, but agaisst a cap ain not now in tbeir employ, and after the Court bad expressed an opinion that for the purpose of the ezist'ng award, the Wellington brar ch ■rood on the same footing as any other Union. The Conciliation Beard bas bow spent several days on a dispu e in tb> painting trade, most of the time being taken up with questions of who should and who should not be made parties to an order of reference. To-day there were a number ef lively paisagf s-at-arms between members of the Beard, the chairman, employers, and the Union represents ives, -which culminated in the chairman threatening to have one person ejected. The employers charged one section of the board of being actuated by partisan feeling. The latter lesponckd that the employers were conspiring to spin out the proceedings.
