ACCIDENT AT BELL BLOOK. While proceeding along the main North--oad at about 5.30 list eveninp, Mr. J. S. Conaett came acrois an /elderly man Bamid Petersen, who is supposed to belong to Waitara, lying ia the rsad, near Bell Block. . Air, .Gonnelt immediately examined him and found the man to be suffering! . from apparently qevere injuries. The police were commuoicited with, and Constable Lind drove out acd he and Mr. Conoett brought Petersen into town and took him to the hospital, where he was examined by Dr. L.&tbam, whc fouod hs had sustained serious internal injuries, bad gevai-1 ribs fractured. On enquiry at : the hospital hte last even ng we r- lesrned that Pe'e/san was suffering - severely from shojk. It ia surmised that the man was driving aloig the toad towards h mp, and was thrown from his trap; but a' the time if writing no particulars were available.
